Why It Matters:
Your wheels are constantly exposed to brake dust, road grime, and harsh weather. Regular maintenance keeps them clean and protected, extending their lifespan and improving overall vehicle aesthetics.
1. Pre-Rinse the Wheels
Start by rinsing the wheels thoroughly with a pressure washer or hose to remove loose dirt and brake dust.
2. Apply a Dedicated Wheel Cleaner
Apply AM Wheels, a pH-balanced wheel cleaner, to the surface. It's safe for all wheel types and breaks down brake dust and grime effectively.
3. Agitate with Soft Brushes
Use a soft-bristled wheel brush to agitate the cleaner and remove stubborn dirt. Make sure to clean both the face of the wheel and the inner barrel.
4. Decontaminate with a Fallout Remover
For deeper decontamination, especially with stubborn iron particles and brake dust, use AM Iron. It targets iron deposits that standard cleaners can miss.
5. Clean the Tyres
Apply an all-purpose cleaner or dedicated tyre cleaner to scrub the sidewalls and remove old tyre dressing, grime, and dirt.
6. Rinse Off the Wheels
Rinse thoroughly with water to remove all cleaner residue, ensuring no stains or marks remain.
7. Dry the Wheels
Dry your wheels using a soft microfibre towel to prevent water spots.
8. Apply Wheel Sealant or Wax
Protect the wheels with a high-temperature wheel sealant to repel brake dust and make future cleaning easier.
9. Apply Tyre Dressing
Finish the job by applying a tyre dressing to give your tyres a clean, glossy finish.
By using AM Wheels and AM Iron alongside regular cleaning, you’ll keep your wheels looking sharp and protected from brake dust and grime.
